Boeing, Saab, and BAE Systems have joined forces to launch an advanced pilot training program, aiming to prepare Royal Air Force personnel for the demands of modern air combat.

The partnership supports the UK’s 2025 Strategic Defence Review, with BAE Systems managing the initiative and leading UK-based assembly work to create new skilled aerospace jobs.

Central to the offering is the T-7A Red Hawk, incorporating a blended live-synthetic training system and mission-system integration while expanding opportunities for British industry involvement.

Selected as the US Air Force’s replacement for the T-38 in 2018, the T-7A is purpose-built to train pilots for next-generation fighters such as the F-35 and F-22 and future sixth-generation platforms.

Its integrated training system merges real aircraft operations with virtual and constructive simulation to enhance mission complexity, safety, and cost-efficiency.

The aircraft is already in operational training use at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, where it is set to fully replace the T-38 later this decade.

Boeing and Saab continue marketing the T-7A globally, positioning it for adoption across allied air forces including India, South Korea, and European NATO members.
