BlackSea Technologies has introduced its Modular Attack Surface Craft (MASC), a new class of unmanned surface vessels (USVs) tailored to the US Navy’s demand for flexible, multi-mission platforms.
Unlike repurposed commercial hulls, the MASC was purpose-built from the keel up to maximize payload capacity and adaptability. It can carry more than 67,000 pounds (28,122 kilograms) of payload — twice the capacity of similar vessels.
The craft also provides 900 square feet (84 square meters) of open deck space and delivers 198 kilowatts of onboard electrical power, enabling seamless integration of advanced sensors, weapons, and mission systems.
