Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) has partnered with BAE Systems to establish a new 155mm artillery ammunition plant in Poland.

Under the agreement, BAE will supply its technology and technical know-how, enabling PGZ to expand domestic production capacity. Construction is slated to begin this year, with completion targeted for 2027–2028.

The plant will employ automated production techniques already used in the UK, where BAE has increased 155mm shell output more than sixteen-fold. The new munitions will conform to NATO standards, compatible with standard charges, fuzes, and primers.

Once operational, the facility is expected to deliver up to 180,000 shells annually, strengthening Poland’s supply chain and providing ammunition for its K9 and Krab self-propelled howitzers.
