Lockheed Martin Ventures has joined forces with Rhode Island startup HavocAI to accelerate the U.S. military’s pursuit of autonomous maritime systems, focusing on the development of medium unmanned surface vehicles (mUSVs).
The vessels are intended to operate without onboard personnel, equipped to carry out armed missions and reduce human risk in naval operations.
This partnership will fuse Lockheed’s deep experience in integrating weapons systems with HavocAI’s advanced autonomy software to create next-generation drone boats for future warfare.
