Under a US Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) program, Auterion has completed the Artemis long-range strike drone, designed for precision engagements over extended distances. Drawing visual parallels to Shahed-series UAV drones employed by Russia, Artemis combines endurance with Western-grade autonomy and targeting systems.

The drone boasts a 1,000-mile (1,609-kilometer) range and can carry a 40-kilogram (88-pound) warhead. Its avionics suite includes the Skynode N mission processor, a Visual Navigation System for degraded satellite environments, and a terminal visual guidance system for pinpoint impact.

Its open-architecture framework ensures compatibility with allied systems and adaptability for future missions. Developed and field-tested in Ukraine with a confidential Ukrainian hardware partner, Artemis builds upon Auterion’s prior AI-enabled strike solutions supplied to Kyiv.

Comprehensive flight trials by US evaluators covered launch readiness, navigation across GPS-dependent and independent modes, and long-range targeting. The results led to refinements aligning Artemis with US and allied operational standards, with production lines now underway in the US, Ukraine, and Germany.
