Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the kingdom’s state-owned defense company, has signed a partnership with Amentum UK and International to enhance maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MROU) services for land combat systems.

The agreement will strengthen SAMI’s land systems division as the national hub for MROU, introducing streamlined processes and best practices to meet rising domestic requirements.

It is expected to generate jobs, boost the local defense industry, and transfer technical expertise to Saudi talent.

The initiative also aligns with Vision 2030, which seeks to localize over half of the country’s defense spending by 2030.

SAMI currently supports several armored platforms, including the Al-Faris 8-400, Al-Kaser, and Al-Mansour APCs; the Al-Masmak and Tuwaiq MRAPs; and the Ashibl light armored vehicles.
