MARTAC has signed a memorandum of understanding with Confucian, its Taiwan-based sales and marketing partner, and the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) to advance unmanned surface vessel (USV) development.
Under the agreement, MARTAC and NCSIST will collaborate on R&D and joint manufacturing of MARTAC’s surface craft in Taiwan. The framework also emphasizes technology sharing, supply chain integration, workforce training, and knowledge exchange, aimed at boosting Taiwan’s domestic defense industry capacity.
The partnership comes as Taiwan continues to strengthen its drone and autonomous system capabilities amid growing security concerns. In recent weeks, NCSIST also struck agreements with AV on unmanned and precision strike systems and with Kratos to convert a target drone into the Mighty Hornet IV high-speed attack UAV. Additionally, Shield AI has partnered with Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation to enhance local aerospace manufacturing and defense innovation.
