Ukraine has placed an order with Rheinmetall for 35mm ammunition to supply its Gepard anti-aircraft systems. Funded by Germany, the contract includes 180,000 rounds of High Explosive Incendiary with Tracer (HEI-T) ammunition, designed to engage various aerial threats, including drones. Production will take place at Rheinmetall’s Unterlüß facility in northern Germany, where manufacturing capacity was expanded in 2023.
