HENSOLDT and TYTAN Technologies have formalized a partnership to collaborate on advanced counter-UAS solutions aimed at protecting critical assets.
Under the agreement, TYTAN’s high-speed interceptor drones will be integrated with HENSOLDT’s sensor portfolio and its Elysion Mission Core command-and-control platform. The combined system is intended to deliver end-to-end drone defense, covering detection, identification, tracking, and physical interception for civilian and military sites.
Integration and production of the system will be based in Bavaria, Germany. In addition to counter-drone interception, the partnership encompasses coordinated infrastructure protection activities such as persistent surveillance, threat analysis, and rapid response planning, conducted alongside federal and regional authorities.
The collaboration also targets international markets, addressing NATO air defense needs and supporting European defense initiatives, including programs related to Ukraine. TYTAN’s interceptor drone is engineered for near-instant launch and rapid engagement, flying directly toward detected hostile UAS.
Equipped with computer vision-based guidance, the interceptor closes in on its target and neutralizes it via kinetic impact. The drone achieves speeds above 250 kilometers per hour, operates at ranges exceeding 15 kilometers, and has a total mass of around 5 kilograms.
Elysion Mission Core aggregates inputs from radar, EO/IR sensors, RF detectors, and acoustic sensors to build a comprehensive threat picture. The system presents real-time situational awareness through a map-based interface, enabling operators to control sensors and countermeasures from a single console or tablet, supported by automated threat evaluation and response recommendations.
