Dynetics, a Leidos company, has selected Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, to supply TJ150 turbojet engines for its Black Arrow Small Cruise Missile program.
The TJ150 is a lightweight, high-performance engine with proven scalability and quick production cycles. It offers 150 pounds of thrust and is capable of high-altitude ignition, making it ideal for powering a variety of autonomous systems and precision weapons for both domestic and international users.
Preliminary integration with Pratt & Whitney started in 2023, while the current contract work began in April 2025 and will continue into early 2026. The agreement provides an option for additional engine orders based on future needs.
The TJ150 is already in widespread service, with over 2,700 engines delivered globally for missile applications. Pratt & Whitney is also leveraging additive manufacturing to maintain the engine’s robustness while enabling greater flexibility in production and supply chain solutions.
