Raytheon Technologies and Northrop Grumman have trialed advanced rocket motors for the NGSRI, the US Army’s next-gen replacement for the legacy Stinger missile system.
The new motors feature HLG solid fuel, which enables longer burn time and more thrust, boosting speed and range. The interceptor is designed for flexible deployment, including shoulder launch and vehicle integration.
The final test stage saw static fires and a ballistic flight. More flight testing is planned in the coming months. Raytheon had earlier wrapped up trials on the full interceptor suite in February 2025.
