The Turkish Navy has initiated the construction of three indigenous warships: the MILDEN submarine, the MUGEM aircraft carrier, and a TF-2000 destroyer. A ceremonial first weld for the submarine took place at Gölcük Shipyard to mark the beginning of the project. Simultaneously, the first steel-cutting ceremonies for the aircraft carrier and destroyer were held at Istanbul Shipyard.
