The U.S. Navy has awarded Textron Systems a $353.9 million contract modification to produce three additional LCAC 100-class Landing Craft Air Cushion vessels, with delivery expected by 2031. This follows a previous agreement from August 2023 to build up to 73 hovercraft as replacements for legacy LCACs introduced in the 1980s.

Each 92-foot (28-meter) craft is equipped with naval guns, machine guns, and grenade launchers, and is powered by four Rolls-Royce MT7 gas turbines—derived from the Bell V-22 Osprey engines—delivering a combined 28,000 horsepower. The LCAC 100 has a range of around 200 nautical miles (370 km) and can reach speeds up to 35 knots (65 km/h).
