South Korea is advancing the capabilities of several major weapon systems to meet growing demands for increased firepower.
The Defense Agency for Technology and Quality (DTaQ) recently carried out a three-day field support operation focused on identifying operational improvements for the K9 self-propelled howitzer, Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher, and Cheonma surface-to-air missile system.
The initiative involved 40 expert maintenance personnel from DTaQ and the Republic of Korea Army’s 70th Maintenance Battalion, along with representatives from key defense contractors, including Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Rotem, and LIG Nex1.
