
Belgium is strengthening its national defense through the planned purchase of 200 to 300 Piorun man-portable air defense systems from Poland. The agreement, signed by Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken and Polish Defense Minister W?adys?aw Kosiniak-Kamysz, also covers training systems and support services. Financial details and delivery timelines were not revealed. Built by Polish defense company Mesko, the Piorun system has proven effective in combat, notably in Ukraine against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, drones, and incoming missiles.
