In a significant move to enhance its maritime strike capabilities, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has proposed outfitting the Indian Navy’s MH-60R Seahawk helicopters with the cutting-edge Naval Strike Missile (NSM). The Indian Navy currently operates nine MH-60R Seahawks, with an additional 15 helicopters scheduled for delivery by the end of 2025. The integration of the NSM is expected to greatly improve the Navy’s operational reach and effectiveness in targeting surface and coastal threats at long range.
