The U.S. State Department has approved a proposed $3.64 billion sale of Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs) to Japan. The request includes 1,200 AIM-120D-3 and AIM-120C-8 missiles. In addition to the missiles, the deal covers up to 20 AIM-120D-3 guidance sections featuring high-precision positioning via Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) or M-Code, along with up to four AIM-120C-8 guidance sections.
