Yantar USC has officially unveiled the RFS Vladimir Andreyev, a next-generation Ivan Gren-class landing ship for the Russian Navy, during a launch event held in Kaliningrad. As the third vessel in a series expected to reach up to 11 units, the Andreyev represents a continued push to modernize Russia’s amphibious and logistical naval operations.

The launch event drew attendance from key figures, including Admiral Alexander Moiseyev and USC deputy director Svetlana Morik, who also acted as the ship’s sponsor. The vessel is now scheduled to undergo advanced outfitting procedures before being fully integrated into active service. It is anticipated to join the Pacific Fleet by 2026, replacing outdated Soviet-era amphibious ships with enhanced capabilities for troop transport and landing operations.
