The Royal Canadian Navy has chosen Rolls-Royce to supply major components for its new River-class destroyers. The agreement covers key propulsion and onboard handling systems that will power the first three ships in the fleet.

Each destroyer will be equipped with an MT30 gas turbine, MTU 4000-series diesel generators, and a Mission Bay Handling System, enhancing performance and mission versatility. The contract for the MT30 turbine and bay system was signed with Irving Shipbuilding, while Rolls-Royce is finalizing a separate agreement with Wajax Power Systems for the diesel engines.
