Plans for France’s much-anticipated replacement of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier are advancing, with the Ministry of Armed Forces set to place the order in 2025. The new nuclear-powered carrier, estimated at a minimum of €10 billion, will be the largest warship built in Europe and is key to preserving France’s military stature and its role in NATO.
