The US Air Force has received Northrop Grumman’s test missile for the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW), intended to strike mobile and time-sensitive targets. The test unit will help validate the weapon’s safe deployment from its launch platform. Awarded a $705-million contract in 2023, Northrop Grumman is developing the SiAW for the F-35 fighter jets, with responsibilities that include testing, integration, and ensuring the missile is combat-ready by 2026.
