Lithuania is allocating 300 million euros ($337.4 million) to enhance its defense industrial base and position itself as a regional hub for the security sector. Through the Vytis Initiative, the nation aims to serve as a centralized platform for concept development and export support.

The program is expected to benefit approximately 100 defense firms by strengthening the research ecosystem and aligning innovation efforts with both national and international priorities. It also seeks to address long-standing industry challenges, such as limited early-stage investment, inadequate testing and certification infrastructure, weak inter-agency collaboration, and constrained innovation funding.
