The US Navy has selected BAE Systems to modernize its AN/APX-123A(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponder under a $30 million deal.
The next-gen transponder will be deployed across a wide range of assets, including aircraft, UAVs, and ships.
It will enhance mission-critical functions like airspace management, targeting systems, and defense coordination.
Development and integration will occur at BAE’s New York and Texas sites, with full delivery by 2027.
