Teledyne FLIR Defense has won a five-year contract to provide the US Army with Black Hornet 4 nano-drones.
The drones are being acquired under the Soldier Borne Sensor program to enhance soldiers’ situational awareness in the field.
The first order, worth $25 million, includes drones, controllers, spare parts, and training packages.
If all options are exercised, the total contract could be worth up to $91 million.
Production will be based in Norway, with initial deliveries having started in September 2024.
The Black Hornet 4 is designed for rapid deployment and safe reconnaissance in high-risk environments.
