The US Army is preparing to upgrade its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) with hypersonic capabilities through the new Blackbeard Ground Launch (GL) missile system.
This initiative aims to integrate the high-speed Blackbeard missile with the existing HIMARS platform, combining precision strike power with proven mobility and infrastructure.
Developed by Castelion Corporations, the Blackbeard GL will feature self-guiding technology and is expected to reach speeds of Mach 5. It is being tailored for accurate strikes on fortified or mobile targets in complex operational settings.
