The UK and Ukraine have signed a new agreement to collaborate on battlefield technologies, focusing on accelerating drone production and enhancing the integration of both nations’ defense industries.
The deal was unveiled during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street.
As part of the agreement, Ukraine will share frontline battlefield data with British defense companies to fast-track the design, large-scale manufacturing, and delivery of military systems.
The partnership will initially emphasize information and expertise sharing on drone-based air defense but is expected to evolve into broader defense technology cooperation, extending well beyond the current conflict.
The first contracts between UK and Ukrainian defense firms are anticipated in the coming weeks.
This initiative will draw on the UK’s 4.5-billion-pound ($6 billion) military aid package for Ukraine this year and is backed by an ongoing pledge of 3 billion pounds ($4 billion) annually in future support over the next three years.
