AeroVironment has received a $55.3 million contract to supply Switchblade loitering munitions under the U.S. Army’s Directed Requirement for Lethal Unmanned Systems (LUS). This marks the second order under a five-year agreement awarded in August, which has a total ceiling of $990 million. The LUS program aims to boost infantry forces’ capabilities in engaging hardened targets like tanks and armored vehicles.
