AeroVironment has been awarded a contract to supply its flagship Switchblade loitering munition systems to the US Army. Valued at $288 million, this deal is part of a five-year agreement granted last year, covering the kamikaze drone’s 300 and 600 variants. If all options are exercised, the total value of the program could reach $990 million. AeroVironment received its initial order in August 2024, followed by a second request announced last month.
