General Dynamics has landed a $12.4-billion contract to build two more Virginia-class attack submarines for the US Navy. Initially expected to be awarded in 2024, the agreement now covers the construction of SSN-812 (USS Baltimore) and SSN-813 (USS Atlanta), both designed under the Block V configuration. The funding will also be used to boost shipyard efficiency, including workforce growth initiatives.
