Textron Systems has launched its “Tsunami” series of autonomous surface vessels, designed to support unmanned maritime operations for the US military and its allies. These drones can operate in Sea State 4 conditions, handling waves between 4.1 and 8.2 feet (1.25 to 2.5 meters), and cover ranges exceeding 1,000 nautical miles (1,852 kilometers/1,151 miles). The vessels come in 24-, 25-, and 28-foot (7.3, 7.6, and 8.5-meter) hull sizes and can carry payloads up to 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms).
