The US Navy has awarded Textron Systems a $394.2-million contract for the construction of nine more Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) 100-class vessels. This latest agreement follows prior contracts in August 2023 and July 2024, which supported the procurement of materials and early development activities for up to five units. Production of the new hovercraft fleet will be carried out in New Orleans, Louisiana, and various other locations across the US. Textron aims to complete the project by September 2030.
