Marking a major advancement in India’s indigenous defense sector, Gurugram-based deep-tech startup Sharang Shakti has introduced vajR, a fully autonomous hard-kill drone interceptor system capable of neutralizing hostile UAVs in real time. This is among the first efforts by a private Indian company to develop a reusable, AI-powered kinetic drone defense solution tailored to evolving aerial threats.

At a time when cross-border drone threats are escalating, vajR distinguishes itself with smart targeting, rapid interception, and full reusability—entirely developed in India. Unlike conventional systems relying on jamming or spoofing, vajR employs a kinetic kill mechanism. It autonomously launches from a smart hangar, receives sensor data, and uses onboard AI to track and crash into the threat, ensuring effective neutralization even in signal-jammed environments.
