Safran Electronics & Defense, a forefront provider of high-tech defence solutions, together with Babcock International Group, has unveiled plans to expand cooperation in multi-domain mission systems, aircraft propulsion, space systems, and tactical and strategic communications.
The Paris Air Show witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that seeks to combine the world-class capabilities of Safran and Babcock to deliver advanced, competitive, and innovative solutions for defence sectors in the UK, France, and internationally.
This agreement builds upon a trusted, long-standing partnership between two leading defence firms whose expertise spans from submarines to satellites. The collaboration will focus on pursuing significant land, naval, and air defence programmes, fostering rapid development and integration of new technologies.
Supporting the bilateral defence ambitions outlined in the Lancaster House Treaties, the MOU embodies a shared commitment to reinforce European security and to build a sovereign, resilient industrial base prepared for future defence needs.
Key areas of cooperation include joint research and development, exchanging best practices in engineering and manufacturing, and enhancing supply chain resilience to protect sovereignty and ensure reliable supply. Both companies are committed to bolstering government strategies aimed at economic growth and creation of skilled jobs in both nations.
This strengthened alliance underscores Safran’s and Babcock’s dedication to advancing Franco-British defence collaboration for the benefit of national security, economic success, and leadership in European defence.
