The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has placed an order with Saab for Giraffe 4A radar systems and associated services for the Swedish Armed Forces, worth about SEK 1.4 billion. Deliveries are scheduled for 2026-2027.
Giraffe 4A will boost Sweden’s ground-based air surveillance by providing a modern, mobile sensor system that allows for software updates.
With its multifunctional capabilities, the Giraffe 4A can detect and track a large number of objects at once, suitable for air and sea monitoring as well as military air traffic management.
