Saab has entered into a strategic collaboration with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems to co-develop a new Unmanned Airborne Early Warning (UAEW) capability based on the MQ-9B unmanned aerial system.
The partnership combines Saab’s leading AEW&C sensor technology with General Atomics’ proven unmanned platform expertise. By integrating Saab’s AEW sensors onto the MQ-9B, the system will offer persistent, long-endurance surveillance and real-time situational awareness across wide areas.
This unmanned AEW solution will expand Saab’s AEW&C product line, adding to its manned systems like GlobalEye, and offers new deployment flexibility from naval warships or other launch platforms. It can operate as a stand-alone asset or as part of a manned-unmanned team for enhanced mission effectiveness.
Saab’s long-standing record of providing AEW solutions to NATO and international partners highlights its reliability and leadership in airborne early warning systems.
