The Royal Navy’s next-generation electronic warfare system, the Maritime Electronic Warfare System Integrated Capability (MEWSIC), has completed initial production and is now undergoing final testing and enhancements. The system is set to be deployed on Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers, Type 45 destroyers, and upcoming Type 26 and Type 31 frigates. Developed under a 13-year, £100 million ($125 million) contract, MEWSIC is the result of a collaboration led by Babcock, with support from Elbit Systems UK and QinetiQ.
