Japan has taken delivery of three F-35 Lightning II fighter jets from the United States at Komatsu Air Base in Ishikawa Prefecture. These aircraft are equipped with the latest TR-3 avionics suite, which includes an upgraded display, core processor, and enhanced memory modules for improved computing performance. Prior to their arrival, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force conducted interoperability exercises with the US and Italy, including the deployment of the Izumo-class destroyer JS Kaga (DDH-184) to the U.S. west coast for joint training.
