UK unmanned systems firm MSubs has unveiled the Royal Navy’s next-generation Extra Large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (XLAUV) at Turnchapel Wharf in Plymouth. The launch marks a key step in the UK’s Cetus Project, aimed at creating an autonomous submarine fleet to boost underwater defense capabilities. Once operational, the XLAUVs will be used to safeguard national infrastructure and monitor subsea activity in British waters.
