In a move to deepen regional defense ties, Australia has announced it will donate a Guardian-class patrol vessel to the Maldives.
This contribution will enhance the Maldives’ coastal defense capabilities, allowing the country to better monitor and respond to illegal maritime operations such as smuggling and unauthorized fishing.
The ship will be equipped with mapping tools and sustained operational support, boosting long-term maritime safety and contributing to the country’s blue economy strategy.
