Lockheed Martin has received a contract from the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to develop a prototype quantum-enabled inertial navigation system, known as QuINS. Utilizing highly sensitive quantum sensors, the system determines a platform’s position, speed, and orientation without relying on GPS. Lockheed Martin will collaborate with Q-CTRL and AOSense to bring the project to fruition.
