As part of the VLTP program’s high-end segment, the French DGA ordered 530 SERVAL vehicles from the temporary joint venture between KNDS France and Texelis. Among these, 24 SERVAL C-UAV units will be delivered to the French Army beginning in 2028, offering a decisive counter-UAV capability. The French Military Programming Law (LPM) ultimately plans for 48 such systems to be acquired.
SERVAL C-UAV: The Latest Variant in a Scalable Lineup
Equipped with the ARX®30 remotely-controlled turret designed by KNDS France, the SERVAL C-UAV provides close-range protection for valuable assets. This addition brings the total SERVAL variants to 23, including models for electronic warfare, medical evacuation, troop transport, VSHORAD, and command posts. The SCORPION program is renowned for its adaptability, with KNDS France innovating continuously to meet the demands of modern, high-intensity conflict zones like Ukraine.
The SERVAL C-UAV features a high-rate-of-fire, high-elevation ARX®30 30mm cannon, complemented by radar, RF detection systems, and the capability to fire Airburst munitions—making it an integral part of counter-UAV defense.
SERVAL C-UAV: Protecting Tactical Maneuvers
Drawing on its expertise in weapons and ammunition, KNDS France offers a complete counter-UAV system to provide operational dominance over aerial threats. The DGA contract also includes development of a 30mm Airburst munition.
The ARX®30 30mm cannon is part of a comprehensive system that includes a 3D radar, omnidirectional RF detector, targeting sight, turret, and dedicated Airburst ammunition. This full-spectrum package—from detection through to neutralization—can be adapted for use on various platforms across land, air, and sea to suit different operational needs.
