Italy has formally chosen Germany’s Skynex air defense system to strengthen its national airspace security. Rheinmetall, the manufacturer, confirmed a €73 million ($75 million) order for a single Skynex unit, which will act as a pilot system for the Italian Army. The setup includes advanced air surveillance sensors, a command-and-control center, and four 35mm gun modules, along with ammunition, spare parts, training, and maintenance support.
