Italy’s Ministry of Defense has awarded the Iveco-Oto Melara Consortium (CIO) a contract to supply 76 Medium Armored Combat Vehicles (VBM) to the army. The deal includes 60 combat variants and 16 anti-tank carrier variants of the CIO’s VBM Plus 8×8 platform, intended for the Second Medium Brigade. The contract also covers integrated logistics support and an unspecified number of 10×10 rescue and recovery vehicles to ensure the new fleet’s operational readiness.
