The Indian Army intends to acquire more than $1 billion worth of ammunition for the Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher (MBRL) within the next month. Orders are expected to be finalized before the fiscal year concludes on March 31. The procurement will include two types of ammunition: high-explosive pre-fragmented rounds valued at 57 billion Indian rupees (approximately $660 million) and area denial rounds worth 45 billion rupees (around $520 million).
