Elbit Systems is preparing to launch its newest infrared missile warning system, the PAWS-2 (HR), at the 2025 Paris Air Show, taking place from June 16 to 22. The system is built for high-performance aerial defense in contested airspace.
At the core of PAWS-2 HR is a cooled mid-wave infrared sensor boasting a resolution exceeding five megapixels. This technological leap provides enhanced visual clarity for identifying missile threats to helicopters, fighters, and cargo planes.
The system can detect various IR-guided missiles with faster alert timing, and provides accurate launch point geolocation. It also improves classification accuracy and countermeasure response timing, reducing operational disruptions caused by false positives.
