The Dutch Ministry of Defence has partnered with local company Lobster Robotics to upgrade its Scout underwater drone for military applications.
Initially developed for commercial purposes, the Scout drone is capable of detecting and identifying underwater objects, making it ideal for tasks like mine detection and seabed reconnaissance.
Equipped with advanced sensors, lighting systems, and intelligent software, the drone can produce high-resolution seafloor maps, significantly reducing the need for time-consuming manual video analysis.
