A new AI-based torpedo guidance system in China is being designed to recognize real submarines amidst decoy interference.
Jointly created by the PLA Navy Armament Department and China State Shipbuilding Corporation, the system reportedly achieved a 92.2% accuracy rate in simulations, according to a domestic military journal.
When integrated, the upgrade may render China’s torpedoes more resilient to modern anti-submarine countermeasures.
