Current Scientific Corporation, a leading Canadian manufacturer of electro-optical infrared surveillance systems, has been selected to participate in the Innovation Solutions Canada (ISC) program, a government initiative that supports the testing of innovative technologies.
Through the ISC Testing Stream, CURRENT’s NN 8087-360 surveillance system will be tested by a Canadian law enforcement agency at a remote coastal site in British Columbia. The program provides an opportunity for pre-commercial products to demonstrate real-world effectiveness ahead of potential broader adoption.
The system combines long-range HD mid-wave infrared and day cameras, a laser rangefinder, and a gyro-stabilized pan-tilt-zoom unit with a 360-degree thermal camera array that continuously updates panoramic imagery in real time.
With AI-driven object detection tailored for vessel identification, the NN 8087-360 provides round-the-clock, all-weather surveillance capabilities, along with high reliability and low maintenance requirements.
CURRENT’s systems are widely deployed on marine vessels such as coast guard and naval ships, ferries, luxury yachts, and icebreakers, as well as in coastal surveillance sites globally. The company actively invests in research and development and maintains ISO 9001:2015 certification to uphold stringent quality standards.
