The U.S. Air Force has granted Firestorm Labs a $100 million contract for the supply of small unmanned aerial systems. Under the agreement, the California-based startup will deliver its flagship drones along with support services and research and development for a range of military applications. Firestorm’s key offering, the Tempest 50, is produced using its proprietary xCell 3D printers, which allow for the rapid on-site manufacturing of drone components near combat zones.
