Pakistan will now deliver 40 JF-17 Thunder fighter jets to Azerbaijan, up from the initial 16 agreed upon.
The original agreement, signed in 2024 for $1.6 billion, was part of efforts to modernize Azerbaijan’s air capabilities.
The larger $4.6 billion deal positions Azerbaijan as the top buyer of the JF-17 internationally.
These jets will be the Block III variant, offering state-of-the-art radar, avionics, and combat systems.
Deliveries began in September 2024, and the initial jets were combat-ready by October.
